Hour-long 5:00 p.m. news in OKC? Yes.

KOKH-TV 25 / Oklahoma City (“FOX 25”)

FIRST ON THE BLOG: Yes, you read that title correctly. KOKH 25 is ready to jump into the early-evening news landscape by adding a weeknight hour-long 5:00 p.m. newscast called FOX 25 News at 5:00. Yes, shockingly I know that will be the name for the newscast, since they use different titles for each newscast (5:00-9:00 a.m. is FOX 25 Morning News, 9:00-10:00 a.m. is FOX 25 News Good Day Oklahoma, 9:00-10:00 p.m. is FOX 25 Primetime News at 9:00 and 10:00-10:30 p.m. is FOX 25 News Late Edition at 10:00). The new 5:00 p.m. newscast will be anchored by Mike Brooks and Wendy Suares with FOX 25 StormWatch Weather from AMS/Sealed Meteorologist Jon Slater and FOX 25 Sports by Myron Patton. This new newscast will start on September 1st and it will be O.K.C.’s ONLY weeknight hour-long 5:00 p.m. news. IMO, very excited about this expansion.

  1. Minor correction: KOKH’s 10 p.m. newscast is actually 30 minutes, not 35. The station airs syndicated programming at 10:30 p.m. (give or take 30 seconds).
