Small minor newscast changes… #3

WCCO-TV 4 / Minneapolis – St. Paul (“WCCO Channel 4” / “WCCO”)

FIRST ON THE BLOG: WCCO 4 has quietly expanded it’s Saturday 10:00 p.m. newscast to an hour, now matching it’s Sunday 10:00 p.m. news timeslot, which has been an hour for sometime now. They are broken down into 2 programs, WCCO 4 News at 10:00 and WCCO 4 News at 10:35.

KMSP-TV 9 / Minneapolis – St. Paul (“FOX 9 KMSP”)

Also minor is that earlier this summer, FOX Television Stations announced that it would add more newscasts to several markets, including Minneapolis-St. Paul, the home for KMSP FOX 9. Apparently though, that’s not the case. All it added was a 10:00 a.m. half-hour Sunday morning newscast. It was supposed to be an hour, but shrunk to 30 minutes to allow FOX 9 anchor/reporter Tom Lyden present his program called The Reporters at 10:30 a.m. Also the Sunday 10:00 p.m. newscast that was supposed to be an hour-long, remained at 35 minutes to allow for FOX 9 Sports NOW at 10:35. The only other expansion waiting to happen for KMSP 9 is a weeknight 6:00 p.m. newscast, scheduled to debut September 6th.

FOX Television Stations sometimes doesn’t make promises on it’s stations and that can hurt for viewers and especially, ratings. We’ll just have to find out. Stay tuned…
