Was rumored but now confirmed… WKYC will expand it’s weekend morning news.

WKYC-TV 3 / Cleveland (“WKYC Channel 3”)

FIRST ON THE BLOG: Today, 9/5/2014, we can FINALLY confirm about these rumors about whether or not WKYC 3 is expanding it’s Saturday morning newscast. We can tell you now that these rumors are now… 100% TRUE. Starting September 13th, WKYC 3 will expand it’s weekend morning newscast (currently from 9:00-10:30 a.m.) on BOTH days, not just Saturdays from the rumors. Saturday September 13th, WKYC 3 will expand it’s Saturday morning news from 6:00-7:00 a.m. and on Sunday September 14th, it will expand it’s Sunday morning news from 6:00-8:00 a.m.

In other words, this is how the new weekend morning news will shape to be:

  • Saturdays from 6:00-7:00 and 9:00-10:30 a.m.
  • Sundays from 6:00-8:00 and 9:00-10:30 a.m.

The weekend noon news will be kept. But we can finally confirm that these rumors are true and that starting September 13th, more weekend morning news is coming to Cleveland… over on WKYC 3.

RUMORS ONLY: We are hearing rumors out there that WKYC 3 is ready to expand it’s weekend morning newscast to the 6:00 a.m. hour on Saturdays. I’ve heard of some word about this from TVNewsTalk.net (great, awesome site by the way) and heard that by early September, WKYC 3 will be broadcasting local news on Saturday mornings at 6:00 a.m., followed by The Today Show at 7:00 a.m. We don’t know if this will also be on Sundays but these are unconfirmed reports though and we’re looking for any tips to see if anybody knows about this. If we get the exclusive information about this, it will be FIRST ON THE BLOG, but once again, these are just RUMORS and RUMORS ONLY at the moment. Once they are confirmed, we will update you with new information. Stay tuned…
