FIRST ON THE BLOG: Whenever a station no longer airs a newscast, that is bad news for us here on the blog. And we just recently realized of a station in Kansas that has dropped a newscast.
KAKE 10 in Wichita has dropped it’s Sunday morning broadcast of Good Morning Kansas. It was on between 6:00-7:00 and 8:00-9:00 a.m. with GMA in between at 7:00 a.m. and it was followed by This Week at 9:00 and then KAKE’s This Week in Kansas at 10:00 a.m. NOW, the station runs 2 paid programs during both those timeslots. It now leaves KWCH 12’s Eyewitness News This Morning on KSCW on it’s sister station, KSCW 33 (The CW) as the ONLY Sunday morning newscast on in the area and it airs from 7:00-9:00 a.m.
This brings a peaceful shame to KAKELand (what the station and it’s satellites are commonly known as) as the station celebrates it’s 60th anniversary this year in October (promoting the anniversary as Piece of KAKE).
