KOKI adds 4:30 a.m. morning news starting tomorrow.

KOKI-TV 23 / Tulsa (“FOX 23”)

FIRST ON THE BLOG: Let the 4:30 a.m. morning news race in Tulsa, beginning tomorrow. Why you ask?

Well starting tomorrow, KOKI 23 will become just the second station in the market to broadcast local news at 4:30 a.m. This would also make it, the longest time-consuming morning newscast in Tulsa (beating KOTV 6’s 6 in the Morning by half-hour, KTUL 8’s Good Morning Oklahoma by 2 hours and KJRH 2’s 2 News Works For You Today by 2 & 1/2 hours). The new half-hour will be anchored by the same morning team that the other hours for FOX 23 News This Morning are in place. This new newscast is also great news for My41 KMYT which simulcasts KOKI 23’s entire weekday morning newscast. The 4:30 a.m. portion will be simulcasted as well.

Well, that’s all I got. Tulsa is something watchful to keep an eye on…

  1. I think both OKC and Tulsa markets is something to keep an eye on. Wouldn’t be surprised if KSBI ended its weather updates from WeatherVision within the next few weeks and be replaced by a News Share Agreement with CBS affiliate KWTV. Something to keep an eye on.
