Small recent changes in the Raleigh market, involving 5 and 11.

WRAL-TV 5 / Raleigh – Durham – Fayetteville (“WRAL-TV 5”)
WTVD 11 / Durham – Raleigh – Fayetteville (“ABC 11”)

FIRST ON THE BLOG: These are small changes and have been going on for months in this market. Here’s the details…

… We believe it has been a while since WRAL 5 has broadcast a half-hour Saturday morning newscast at 9:00 a.m. right after the first hour of CBS This Morning: Saturday (the second hour is seen on WRAL-DT 5.2 This TV) and is an extension to the 6:00-8:00 a.m. block of the WRAL Morning News. Also another change…

… WTVD 11 has recently expanded their noon newscast to an hour. Its been going on since September, when WABC 7 and WPVI 6 also expanded their noon newscasts around the same time on September 8th, 2014. ABC 11 Eyewitness News at Noon is now an hour-long and joins WRAL 5’s noon newscast as the ONLY two newscasts to be on for an hour at midday and to also be on at noon, since WNCN 17 does their midday newscast at 11:00 a.m. and is only a half-hour long.

Basically, that’s all we got from around here.
