KTLA will expand their Sunday “Morning News,” starting July 5th.

KTLA 5 / Los Angeles (“KTLA 5”)

FIRST ON THE BLOG: As if the expansion of KTLA’s morning newscast was coming to an end, it will actually continue, starting July 5th.

Starting Sunday, July 5th, 2015 (the day after USA’s birthday), KTLA 5 will expand their Sunday morning newscast by an hour at 9:00 a.m. KTLA 5 Morning News will soon run on Sundays from 6:00-10:00 a.m. with the last hour, not exclusive to KTLA 5, since KABC 7 will also continue to air an hour of Sunday morning news at 9:00 a.m.

The Sunday morning newscast is anchored by Lu Parker and Chris Burrous with 5 LIVE Weather from Meteorologist Liberte Chan. This is as LA’s #1 morning newscast continues to expand greatly, by hours and ratings. The new hour would replace a religious program, In Touch with Dr. Charles Stanley. The Saturday morning program, as well as the weekday morning program, will remain as is from 6:00-9:00 a.m. and from 4:00-10:00 a.m., respectively.

The expansion of morning news continues on KTLA 5. Enjoy the new hour everybody.

  1. I wonder if KTLA will get a 2:00 pm afternoon newscast along with its 3:00 pm newscast. There have been rumors a few months back that KTLA would be getting a 2:00 pm newscast. If KTLA did get a 2:00 pm newscast. It would be a 3 hour afternoon news block from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
