WEVV-TV 44 / Evansville, IN – Ownesboro, KY (“CBS 44”)
KJTV-TV 34 / Lubbock (“FOX 34”)

Another week of local newscasts are debuting this week. Here’s the list, but this time, we’ll let WEVV’s newscasts go first and then the rest will be by date and time order (in EDT):

Monday August 3rd, 2015

  • 4:30-5:00 AM: 44 News This Morning at 4:30 a.m. (WEVV 44.1 – CBS and WEVV 44.2/W47EE-D 47.1 – FOX)
  • 5:00-6:00 AM: 44 News This Morning at 5:00 a.m. (44.1 – CBS and 44.2/47.1 – FOX)

  • 8:00-9:00 AM: 44 News This Morning at 8:00 a.m. (44.2/47.1 – FOX)
  • 12:00-12:30 PM: 44 News at Noon (44.1 – CBS)
  • 5:00-5:30 PM: 44 News at 5:00 (44.1 – CBS)
  • 6:00-6:30 PM: 44 News at 6:00 (44.1 – CBS)
  • 9:00-10:00 PM: 44 News at 9:00 (44.2/47.1 – FOX)
  • 10:00-10:35 PM: 44 News at 10:00 (44.1 – CBS)

WEVV in Evansville. The station returns to local news tomorrow after a 14-year absence, thanks to Bayou City Broadcasting, the station’s owners. Newscasts will be known as 44 News and will be seen on both the CBS and FOX channels. Their new (and inaugural) slogan for the news department is Focused on the Family and Community.

  • 5:00-5:30 AM: FOX 34 News – Good Day Lubbock at 5:00 a.m.

KJTV in Lubbock. The station expands to 5:00 a.m. after showing Ag Day Lubbock in that timeslot for 5 years. That program moves to FOX 34 News NOW, the station’s digital subchannel (KJTV-DT 34.2/KJTV-CD 32.1) at 5:30 a.m.

  • 7:00-8:00 AM: FOX 33 News – Good Day at 7:00 a.m.

KMSS in Shreveport. This will become the area’s first and so far, ONLY local newscast after 7:00 a.m. in the Ark-La-Tex TV market, as KTBS 3 (ABC)’s news on KPXJ 21 (CW) and KSLA 12 (CBS) don’t start their after 7:00 a.m. morning news until 9:00 a.m.

  • 12:00-12:30 PM: Action 4 News at Noon

KGBT in Brownsville. This marks a return for the station as it will do so again for the first time in years. In my original post about this, I said that the weekday morning crew would also anchor the noon show. I have received word since then that only Nicole Hickl and StormTracker 4 Weather with Meteorologist Victoria Marshall, will be a part of the brand new noon show.

As you see, a lot is happening this week. But again, if there’s more that warrants, then we will surely let you know. Enjoy this week, everybody.
