KJRH will be expanding their 11:00 a.m. midday broadcast to an hour.

KJRH-TV 2 / Tulsa (“2 Works For You”)

FIRST ON THE BLOG: KJRH was the last station in the Tulsa market to produce a half-hour midday newscast. Starting September 7th, it won’t be anymore.

Starting Monday September 7th, 2015, KJRH 2 will be expanding their midday broadcast to an hour. 2 News Works For You Midday will soon be on-the-air for an hour from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. The new expanded broadcast will replace Right This Minute (one of my favorite shows) at 11:30 a.m. and as of yet, have not found a new timeslot for the show.

KJRH 2 is the ONLY local station in the Tulsa market that airs midday news at 11:00 a.m., as both KOTV 6 (CBS) and KOKI 23 (FOX) air hour-long midday news at 12:00 Noon (KTUL 8 – ABC doesn’t produce and air a midday newscast at all). The newscast is anchored by Max Resnik and Libby Beaubien.

More midday news on KJRH 2. If you can only watch at 11:00 a.m., then this is very good news for you. Plus, Tulsa will now get a 2-hour midday news block from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. I think that’s very cool, indeed.

  1. KJRH-TV will be last last station in the Tulsa market to start their morning news at 5:00am and the last station in the Tulsa market to get a 4:30am newscast.

  2. Hagerstown MD where WHAG is at should get its own TV Market. I don’t know why Hagerstown is considered part of the DC Market. The same for Manchester, NH with WMUR-TV 9 it is part of the Boston Market. I think the state of New Hampshire would be large enough to support its own TV Market separate from Boston DMA.
