FIRST ON THE BLOG: Well… KQDS is taking the same route as KVRR in North Dakota’s Red River Valley region. Mainly because both are owned by Red River Broadcasting.
Starting tonight, Sunday September 13th, 2015, KQDS 21 is expanding its Sunday night newscast at 9:00 p.m. to an hour as well, just like KVRR 15 (FOX) in Fargo – Moorhead. FOX 21 News at 9:00 is one of two primetime newscasts in the area, competing against KDLH 3’s weeknight-ONLY half-hour primetime newscast at 9:00 p.m. on its CW subchannel, Northland CW 2. However, KQDS 21’s primetime newscast is the ONLY hour-long newscast in the Northland and is the only one to do so, 6 nights a week, as the Saturday editions will remain as a half-hour newscast.
On Fridays, KQDS 21 is taking the same route as KVRR 15 when it comes to adding a local sports show at 9:30 p.m. with the Friday Night Frenzy, a local sports show with local highlights and analysis, as well as national sports stories and highlights as well.
More primetime news, starting tonight in the Northland and KQDS 21 will be showcasing it. Enjoy, Northland viewers.
