Newscasts debuting this weekend… Edition #19

Another weekend of more local newscasts debuting this weekend. Here’s that list. No images this time, but you should know by now, which stations are what and where.

WKYC in Cleveland. The station is only expanding its Saturday morning newscast, as the Sunday morning newscast will remain to start at 6:00 a.m. WKYC will be the ONLY ones on at that time on Saturday mornings, as others either won’t start until 6:00 a.m. (WEWS 5; ABC) or 7:00 a.m. (WJW 8; FOX).

  • 6:00-6:30 PM: WDAY 6/WDAZ 8 News at 6:00

KBMY/KMCY in Bismarck/Minot. It was already simulcast on WDAY’Z Xtra, but will now also been seen on both the main channels and this one is the weekend newscast that is also seen on both WDAY 6 in Fargo and WDAZ 8 in Grand Forks, unlike weeknights in which both ‘DAY and ‘DAZ produce and air separate newscasts.

  • 9:00-9:30 PM: KETV NewsWatch 7 at 9:00 on Me-TV Omaha

KETV in Omaha. This will air the area’s first-ever primetime newscast on Saturday nights, as KPTM 42 (FOX) doesn’t air one.

WSBT in South Bend. For the first time ever in the station’s history, Sunday morning news on WSBT 22. It will run an hour shorter from their Saturday morning newscast to carry an hour of E/I programming at 8:00 a.m.

  • 9:00-9:30 PM: KETV NewsWatch 7 at 9:00 on Me-TV Omaha

KETV in Omaha. KETV 7 wraps up the premiere week of the brand new newscast on Sunday. It will be the area’s ONLY nightly primetime newscast at 9:00 as, as I mentioned before, KPTM 42 only airs their primetime newscast from Sundays-Fridays.

  • 10:35-11:00 PM: Channel 5 News at 10:30

KRGV in Brownsville. KRGV 5 will expand its Sunday 10:00 p.m. news to an hour, just like how its already an hour on weeknights. So basically, an hour from Sundays-Fridays and 35 minutes on Saturdays.

We have another good list of newscasts that will be debuting on Monday, so stay tuned to the blog. Enjoy your weekend, everybody.
