FIRST ON THE BLOG: The 4:30 a.m. news race is now heating up in Bakersfield because KBAK has joined in the competition.

Since Monday September 21st, 2015, KBAK 29 has added and aired a half-hour extension of its morning newscast, Eyewitness News Mornings on KBAK, to 4:30 a.m. The newscast now competes against KERO 23 (ABC)’s 23 ABC News – Good Morning Kern County for local news in that timeslot in the area, leaving KGET 17 (NBC/CW)’s 17 News Sunrise as the only morning newscast to continue to start at 5:00 a.m.

Eyewitness News Mornings is now aired from 4:30-7:00 a.m. on KBAK 29 and on sister station KBFX 58 (FOX) from 7:00-9:00 a.m. and is anchored by Erin Briscoe and Robert Finnerty with First Alert Weather from Weathercaster Aaron Perlman.
