FIRST ON THE BLOG: A small minor change to report from East Texas… AGAIN. But its a different station, this time.
FIRST ON THE BLOG: Get ready boys and girls if you live in Cleveland or in Northeast Ohio. WJW is ready to expand even earlier than the competition.
Another short list of newscasts debuting this week and only one station, in Madison.
Monday October 26th, 2015 (My 20th Birthday):
- 4:00-5:00 PM: News 3 – LIVE at 4:00
- 5:00-5:30 PM: News 3 at 5:00
WISC in Madison. The station is moving its LIVE at 5:00 format to 4:00 p.m., expanding it to an hour and adding a new half-hour newscast at 5:00 p.m. in its place. Mark Koehn, Susan Siman and Meteorologist Karin Swanson will handle the 4:00 p.m. newscast while Susan, Eric Franke and Chief Meteorologist Gary Cannalte will be a part of the new 5:00 p.m. broadcast.
The new hour-long newscast at 4:00 p.m. will be home to Madison’s ONLY local newscast at 4:30 p.m.
That’s it for this week. If there’s any more, we will let you know. Have a great week and for me… I get an awesome day tomorrow. Happy Birthday to me.
Only one newscast is debuting this week and it comes from Topeka, making it a very short list.
Monday October 19th, 2015
- 4:30-5:00 PM: 13 News – Eye on Northeast Kansas
WIBW in Topeka. The new half-hour weekday newscast is anchored by Ralph Hipp and will contain the latest news and weather, as well as current features and interviews. It will be the ONLY newscast on at that time in Northeastern Kansas.
I told you it would be a very short list. Have a good week.
We do have another week of the latest newscasts that will be debuting this weekend. Let’s do this.
Saturday October 17th, 2015
- 8:00-9:00 AM: Erie News NOW Sunrise at 8:00 a.m.
WICU in Erie. The station is adding the area’s first-ever weekend morning newscast with anchor Eva Mastromatteo and First Warning Weather with Meteorologist Katie McGraw. It will be the ONLY weekend morning newscast in Northwest Pennsylvania.
- 6:00-7:00 PM: WDSU News at 6:00
WDSU in New Orleans. TVSpy reports that WDSU 6 is adding an hour-long 6:00 p.m. newscast on Saturdays beginning tomorrow with Gina Swanson, WDSU 6 Exact Weather with Meteorologist Kweilyn Murphy and Sports with Fletcher Mackel and Sharief Ishaq.
WDSU 6’s News Director, Jonathan Shelley:
“WDSU has long recognized the need and appetite for local news on weekends. For many years, WDSU was the only station providing local news on weekend mornings. Now, we are once again adding the resources necessary to meet viewer demand for local news in the evening hours.”
So that’s it for this weekend. If we get any more, we will let you know. Enjoy the weekend.
