WHTM has moved its weekend morning newscast and added an hour in the process.

WHTM-TV 27 / Harrisburg – York – Lancaster – Lebanon (“ABC 27”)

FIRST ON THE BLOG: There hasn’t been a change in TV news in the Susquehanna Valley (Harrisburg – Lancaster –  Lebanon – York) since I’ve been keeping records in 2013. For the first time in 2 years, a change in that market and it involves WHTM.

Since yesterday, Saturday September 3rd, 2015, WHTM 27 has shifted its hour-long 9:00 a.m. weekend morning newscast, ABC 27 News Daybreak, to 8:00 a.m. and has added an hour to the morning newscast at 6:00 a.m. The 6:00 a.m. hour competes against long-time leader WGAL 8 (NBC)’s News 8 Today at 6:00 a.m. while the 8:00 a.m. is solely by themselves.

The weekend morning newscast remains as a traditional newscast with the latest breaking news, top stories and StormTrack Weather forecasts. With this move and the additional hour, programming changes were made to WHTM 27’s schedule, including the following:

  • 6:00-7:00 AM: ABC 27 News Daybreak at 6:00 a.m. (previously paid programming and NEW hour)
  • 7:00-8:00 AM: Good Morning America (previously paid programming and tape-delayed from 8:00 a.m.)
  • 8:00-9:00 AM: ABC 27 News Daybreak at 8:00 a.m. (previously tape-delayed GMA and NEW hour)
  • 9:00-10:00 AM: Littion’s Weekend Adventure (Saturdays) and This Week (Sundays) (both previously ABC 27 News Daybreak at 9:00 a.m.)

So if you’re looking for a new hour of weekend morning news in the Susquehanna Valley, then you got it. Thank you, WHTM 27 for making that possible.
