FIRST ON THE BLOG: A mid-morning newscast in Palm Beach? Wasn’t possible until yesterday when WPBF launched one.
Since yesterday, Monday October 5th, 2015, WPBF 25 has aired an hour-long mid-morning weekday newscast at 9:00 a.m. with WPBF 25 News at 9:00 a.m. The newscast is the ONLY ones on in the market, since WFLX 29 (FOX)’s FOX 29 Morning News ends at 9:00 a.m.
The new mid-morning newscast is anchored by Erin Guy and Stephanie Berzinski with WPBF 25 First Alert Weather from Meteorologist Sandra Shaw and Paul Lagrone providing LIVE breaking news updates.
According to WPBF 25 in a press release, “the program, which will feature a strong social media component, will provide the morning’s local breaking news and weather, as well as regional, state, national and international news. The broadcast will include lifestyle segments encompassing consumer stories, health, money, parenting, politics, local entertainment, community issues, as well as local guest experts on a variety of topics.”
WPBF 25’s President and G.M., Caroline Taplett:
“We’re very excited about expanding our news footprint within the local television market. The variety of content we’ll be addressing on WPBF 25 News at 9:00am is important to our South Florida lifestyle. We are always identifying new ways to respond to our evolving viewer’s needs. We believe this newscast will stand apart in the market and provide our viewers with a new perspective on important and relevant stories affecting their lives.”
With this move, The Dr. Oz Show moves back an hour from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. while The Meredith Vieira Show downgrades significantly from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m., the next day. This will also mean that WPBF 25 will have 6 hours of LIVE local and national news from 4:00-10:00 a.m. with America This Morning at 4:00, WPBF 25 News Mornings starting at 4:30, Good Morning America at 7:00 and WPBF 25 News, again at 9:00 a.m.
More morning news in the Palm Beaches and Treasure Coast, thanks to WPBF 25. Enjoy!
