If you’re looking for any newscasts that are debuting this week, its only in Northwest Pennsylvania (Erie).

Monday October 12th, 2015

  • 5:00-6:00 AM: Erie News NOW Sunrise at 5:00 a.m. (WICU 12 and WICU-DT2/WSEE-DT2 – Erie Pennsylvania CW)
  • 6:00-7:00 AM: Erie News NOW Sunrise at 6:00 a.m. (WICU 12 and WSEE 35)
  • 12:00-12:30 PM: Erie News NOW at Noon (WSEE 35 and WICU-DT2/WSEE-DT2)
  • 12:30-1:00 PM: Erie News NOW at 12:30 (WICU 12)
  • 5:00-5:30 PM: Erie News NOW at 5:00 (WICU 12)
  • 5:30-6:00 PM: Erie News NOW at 5:30 (WICU 12)
  • 6:00-6:30 PM: Erie News NOW at 6:00 (WICU 12 and WSEE 35)
  • 10:00-10:30 PM: Erie News NOW at 10:00 on Erie Pennsylvania CW (WICU-DT2/WSEE-DT2)
  • 11:00-11:35 PM: Erie News NOW at 11:00 (WICU 12 and WSEE 35)

WICU and WSEE in Erie. The stations will no longer produce their own newscasts and will start simulcasting each other at respective times. In other words, two news brands becoming one to form Erie News NOW, even though its been only one news operation since they started simulcasting each other on weekends since 2009. The change has already been made on their website and starting tomorrow… on TV.

That’s it for this week, literary. This time of year is usually slowed down because of all the holidays that now come within the next 3 months (Halloween, though not an official one; Thanksgiving and Christmas). Enjoy your new week, everybody.

  1. This is extremely misleading and not quite accurate. The details really do matter in this case.

    The word “Now” in the news brand is not all uppercase.

    Also, the CW is branded as “Erie Pennsylvania CW.” No “3” on the end. The noon news is also broadcast on the CW, but the 12:30 show has been removed from the station, as of this past week.

    “In other words, two stations becoming one to form Erie News NOW.” <- There is still a WICU 12 and WSEE, so this is absolutely wrong. Instead, the news brands are becoming one. Even though WICU 12News and SEE News has existed as two news brands, it has been a single news operation since 2009.

    The changes have already become visible on-air, although not full blown. Some modified graphics have slipped, as well as promos promoting the change.
