WDJT is expanding its 9:00 p.m. newscast on WMLW to an hour.

WDJT-TV 58 / Milwaukee (“CBS 58”)
WMLW-TV 49 / Racine – Milwaukee (“The M”)

WMLW is an independent station owned by WDJT’s owners at Weigel Broadcasting. The station is called as The M with their slogan as The M means Milwaukee. In this case, The M means More News.

Starting Monday January 18th, WDJT 58 will expand its half-hour primetime newscast at 9:00 p.m. on its sister station WMLW 49, to a full hour with a new half-hour at 9:30 p.m. CBS 58 News at 9:00 on The M will soon be followed by CBS 58 News at 9:30 on The M. The broadcast will be expanded to an hour-long, 7 nights a week including weekends. This will allow the newscast to fully compete againast already-established WITI 6 (FOX)’s FOX 6 News at 9:00 for local news in that timeslot in the market.

The newscast is anchored on weeknights by Marshanna Hester and Bill Walsh with Weather from AMS/Sealed Chief Meteorologist Drew Burgoyne and Sports with sports director Kevin Holden. On weekends, its anchored by Eric Levy with Weather from Meteorologist Justin Thompson-Gee and Sports with Earl Arms.

WDJT 58’s News Director, Tracy Davis:

“The expanded 9 PM newscast gives viewers expanded options for more in-depth coverage at a convenient time.”

So yes, even More Milwaukee news is coming to a station that is known as The M (see what I did there under more Milwaukee? Because the station is known as The M? Screw it. At least I tried.)
