Later today… two more newscasts will be debuting: one in San Antonio and the other in Sacramento. Making up for a very short list this week. Check it out.
Monday January 25th, 2016
- 12:00-12:30 PM: News 4 San Antonio at Noon
WOAI in San Antonio. The station returns to the midday news game for the first time in what it seems in quite a long time. Mike Garofalo and Leslie Bohl with Meteorologist Jeannette Calle will handle the news and weather on this broadcast, just as they do on the morning news. The new newscast competes with KENS 5 (CBS)’s half-hour noon news, KSAT 12 (ABC)’s hour-long noon news and ironically enough, sister station KABB 29 (FOX)’s half-hour 11:00am news.
- 4:00-5:00 PM: KCRA 3 News at 4:00
KCRA in Sacramento. Lisa Gonzales and Brian Heap as well as Meteorologist Eileen Javora will handle the news and weather for the new hour-long broadcast that will sure to give KOVR 13 (CBS)’s already-established hour-long 4:00pm news, a run for its money. And it probably will be since KCRA 3 is the overall most-watched news station in Sacramento and if anybody hates KOVR 13 for any reason, then now they have a reason to switch with KCRA 3 now airing weekday 4:00pm news.
By the way, have you noticed its only NBC affiliates this week? Anyways, if there are any more changes, I will surely let you know on Twitter (@ChangeNewsBlog) and on Facebook (The Changing Newscasts Blog). There we post updates all the time, so please check them out and often. Have a great week!
