A small minor newscast change… #61

WMSN-TV 47 / Madison (“FOX 47”)

FIRST ON THE BLOG: A small change to report from Wisconsin’s state capital city… Madison.

Since Monday February 1st, WMSN 47 has expanded their nightly half-hour newscast at 9:00pm to a full hour. FOX 47 News at 9:00 is produced by WISC 3 (CBS) with a news-sharing agreement with WISC 3’s owner, Morgan Murphy Media. The expanded newscast is nightly, 7 days a week and not just on weeknights.

WISC 3’s AMS-CBM/Sealed and weeknight meteorologist Karin Swanson posted this tweet to confirm it on Monday:

The expanded weekend edition debuts on Saturday February 6th. This is Madison and Southeast Wisconsin’s ONLY primetime newscast.

Other than this, there are no other major additions or expansions to report on at this time.

  1. If WMSN is owned by Sinclair and if WISC News partners with WMSN to produce news for WMSN I wonder if Sinclair runs any of their news packages on WISC-TV?

  2. The same thing with the previous owners that owned KSNV and KRNV in NV they sold out their stations to Sinclair and if Sinclair offers to buy KXLY, and WKBT.

  3. And Sinclair has a good presence in Washington State with Sinclair owning KOMO-TV, and KIMA-TV so KXLY would probably be a good addition in Washington State.

  4. KLEW-TV is Similar to the way WHAG-TV is since WHAG is part the DC Market, WMUR-TV since WMUR is part the Boston Market, and WMYT-TV since WMYT is part the Lexington Market and WWSB in your state of Florida since WWSB is part of the Tampa Market.

    • Yes. You can count WMYG 11 as well because it serves the Gainesville market, even though its licensed to Lake City, which is a part of the Jacksonville DMA, therefore giving the Jacksonville market, at least two MyTV stations, if they can receive WMYG 11.
