FIRST ON THE BLOG: If you’re looking for an alternative choice for local midday news in the area, then look no further than KOKH. They’re about to offer one of its own.
KOKH 25 will soon offer an hour-long midday newscast at 11:00am, starting this Monday March 7th. FOX 25 Midday News will be home to OKC’s ONLY hour-long midday newscast at 11:00am, as KFOR 4 (NBC) and KWTV 9 (CBS) offer 12:00 Noon newscasts while KOCO 5 (ABC) doesn’t produce a midday newscast at all, just like all other ABC-affiliated stations in the state of Oklahoma (KTUL 8 in Tulsa, KSWO 7 in Lawton and KTEN 10.3 in Ada/Ardmore).
The new midday newscast is expected to be anchored by the FOX 25 Morning News team: Mitch English, Leslie Draffin and AMS/Sealed Meteorologist Marcy Novak. I’m not sure if traffic reporter Shelby Cashman will be a part of it or not.
This prompts a newscast change on the morning side as the FOX 25 Morning News is now reduced to 5:00-9:00am because their lifestyle talk show, Living Oklahoma, will now be on the air at 9:00am with The Wendy Williams Show at 10:00am and then the new midday newscast at 11:00am. After the midday newscast, there will be plenty of court shows that will lead into the afternoon.
More midday news is coming to Central Oklahoma and at an earlier time, all thanks to KOKH 25.

Is KOKH owned by the same company that owns KOKI in Tulsa? Both stations have expanded news in the past few years. Unfortunately their FOX stations.

Nope. KOKH is owned by Sinclair. KOKI is owned by Cox.
You were probably thinking of that because of the similarities in call letters?

Nope but Sinclair owns KTUL in Tulsa and they do share some of the resources with one another.

I don’t know necessarily if KOKH expanded news they just moved the 9:00am newscast to 11:00am and moved Living Oklahoma to 9:00am kind of like a timeslot shift of programs. The 9:00am newscast might have be reformatted from a morning type talk news format to a regular news format with harder news and moved it to 11:00am.
