Newscasts debuting this week… Edition #53.

Believe it or not, there is a list for this week and the locations are Nashville and Chicago and the one thing in common… both are FOX affiliates. Check out this week’s list of newscasts debuting this week.

Monday July 4th, 2016 (Independence Day 2016)

  • 4:00-4:30 AM: FOX 17 News This Morning at 4:00 a.m.

WZTV in Nashville. On the same day we celebrate the 4th of July and the 2016 Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest, WZTV 17 will be expanding its weekday morning newscast to 4:00am in just a few short hours from now. This will make Nashville as the first market in the country where at least 4 news-producing stations all air their local morning newscasts at 4:00am (WKRN 2 – ABC, WSMV 4 – NBC and WTVF 5 – CBS have done it for a few years now and now its WZTV 17’s turn).

Tuesday July 5th, 2016

  • 5:00-6:00 PM: FOX 32 News at 5:00

WFLD in Chicago. Apparently, I beat TVSpy, TVNewsCheck and even Robert Feder to this story and Robert acknowledged me for my work! Anyways, WFLD 32 will finally add an early-evening newscast of its own and it’ll be one-hour in length running weeknights from 5:00-6:00pm and will bring Chicago, 5 options for local news at 5:00pm (WBBM 2 – CBS, WMAQ 5 – NBC, WLS 7 – ABC, WGN 9 – CW and WFLD 32) and now, 2 options at 5:30pm (WGN 9 – CW and WFLD 32). Jeff Herndon, Dawn Hasbrouck, Bill Bellis and Lou Canellis already team up at 9:00pm and will do so at 5:00pm.

That’s it for this week. Later today is the 4th of July so do this as a favor… Think about all of our service men and women who continue to fight for our freedom and for our honors. Without them, the United States of America simply wouldn’t be here today. Thank them for all they do and for me, I thank them for being heroes and for being true patriots and true Americans on this 4th of July federal holiday.

Have a great week and be safe out there.
