FIRST ON THE BLOG: If you’re looking for another option for local morning news in Buffalo at 4:30am, then look no further to WKBW as it will soon be on that timeslot as well.
Starting Monday July 18th, WKBW 7 will be expanding its weekday morning newscast by an extra half-hour to 4:30am. With 7 Eyewitness News at 4:30 a.m., the station becomes the last in Buffalo to do so after WGRZ 2 (NBC)’s Channel 2 News Daybreak, which was the first to do so in Buffalo followed by WIVB 4 (CBS)’s News 4’s Wake-Up which is also simulcast on their sister station, WNLO 23 (CW).
WKBW 7’s current weekday morning news team will anchor the extra half-hour as well.
As of right now, there are still plans for WKBW 7 to debut its own weekend morning news but at the present, won’t be launched until later this year or early next year and all of this in the hands of Scripps. All of this as WKBW 7 continues to reinvent itself with its struggling ratings.
But we’ll see how this one goes and I’d say good luck to them.
