FIRST ON THE BLOG: If you live in Central Illinois and is looking for news and programming from the ABC affiliate, times have changed and positions have changed.

Since Saturday October 1st, WEEK 25 has moved its sister station WHOI 19’s news broadcasts over to WEEK 25.2. WEEK 25 is now home to ABC and CW programming on 25.2 and 25.3, respectively. This comes after the purchase of the affiliations from WHOI 19 by WEEK 25’s owners at Quincy Media. Because of this, HOI 19 News is now on WEEK 25’s second digital subchannel and the newscasts include the following:

  • Weekdays:
    • 5:00-7:00 AM: HOI 19 News Daybreak
    • 5:30-6:00 PM: HOI 19 News at 5:30
    • 10:00-10:35 PM: HOI 19 News at 10:00
  • Saturdays:
    • 6:00-6:30 PM: HOI 19 News at 6:00
    • 10:00-10:35 PM: HOI 19 News at 10:00
  • Sundays:
    • 5:30-6:00 PM: HOI 19 News at 5:30
    • 10:00-10:35 PM: HOI 19 News at 10:00

All of that is now on WEEK 25.2 and there could be a potential name change coming because of this move. Oh and if you’re wondering about WHOI 19.1 itself, its now broadcasting Comet TV. There was a 60-day transition period, but has since ended as of October 1st and ABC programming has since and exclusively broadcast now on WEEK 25.2. There could be some newscast changes soon because of the move of newscasts, but that’s currently unclear at the moment. And there’s frankly been no other changes involving WHOI 19, including newscasts. So to recap where programming and newscasts are at…

  • WEEK 25.1 = WEEK25 News (NBC)
  • WEEK 25.2 = HOI 19HOI 19 News (ABC)
  • WEEK 25.3 = CW 4 (The CW)

So I guess that’s all you need to know. If you live in Central Illinois, please take note because these are huge changes that’ll take time to get used to. Good luck with that.
