FIRST ON THE BLOG: A small change to report from Western Wisconsin to report, albeit a huge one for the market.
Just recently, WQOW 18 and WXOW 19 have expanded their weekday morning newscast to start at 4:30am. The newscast is titled (WQOW News 18/WXOW News 19) Extra Early Daybreak at 4:30am. This extra half-hour competes against WEAU 13’s 4:30am half-hour as part of their morning newscast called Hello Wisconsin.
WKBT 8 (CBS/MyTV) continues to start their weekday morning newscast at 5:00am and if you count W50DR Channel 10 in La Crosse which is a translator for KTTC 10 (NBC/CW) in Rochester, MN; it also starts their weekday morning newscast at 5:00am.
Other than that, there are no other major additions or expansions to report on at this time.

Is the news on WQOW-TV in Eau Claire the same newscast has WXOW-TV or do both stations produce their own newscasts.

They could. After all, WSAW 7 is up at 4:30am.
