FIRST ON THE BLOG: Some small changes have taken place at two television markets.
Just recently in Central Florida, WRDQ 27 no longer airs a weekend morning newscast. Titled Eyewitness News This Morning at 9:00am on Central Florida’s TV 27, it was on both Saturdays and Sundays and provided the first 9:00am morning newscast in the market and was produced by their sister station, WFTV 9. With the discontinuation, WFTV 9’s weekend morning newscast now only airs from 5:00-9:00am solely on WFTV 9 and also gives WOFL 35 (FOX) as the home to the area’s ONLY local morning news at 9:00am, 7 days a week.
Another change noted recently but in South Central Kansas is that KAKE 10 has re-added the 6:00am hour of its weekend morning newscast, KAKE News – Good Morning Kansas. It last carried a 6:00am hour on weekend mornings in 2014 for Sundays and in 2015 for Saturdays. It’s now home to the earliest weekend morning news on in the market and is also on for an hour at 8:00am as well.
That’s all of the minor changes for now. No major additions or expansions noted as of this hour.
