FIRST ON THE BLOG: More minor changes to report. This time… from Central/Western North Dakota and New York’s Capital Region.

I haven’t known about this until now but… since December 5th of last year, KBMY 17 and KMCY 14 have started to carry the nightly 10:00pm newscast from sister station WDAY 6 (ABC) in Fargo. WDAY News at 10:00 is now seen statewide across North Dakota (except for WDAZ 8 – ABC in Grand Forks in which it carries its own weeknight 10:00pm newscast). Before this addition, it was the only newscast not to be carried by KBMY 17 and KMCY 14’s main signals but was (and still is) carried on their third digital subchannels, home to WDAY’Z Xtra, a mix of local weather and syndicated programming. In Bismarck and Minot’s feed of the subchannel, it also carries MyNetworkTV programming. That’s not the only change to report on…

Also recently, WXXA 23 has stopped carrying sister station WTEN 10 (ABC)’s 5:30am half-hour simulcast of its weekday morning newscast. The station still carries the 6:00am hour-long simulcast with WTEN 10 and continues the extra and exclusive two hours seen on WXXA 23 from 7:00-9:00am, making the newscast on WXXA 23 seen for three hours from 6:00-9:00am. That 6:00am hour, by the way, is the only simulcast that WXXA 23 does with WTEN 10.

Other than this, there are no other major additions or expansions to report on at this time.
