FIRST ON THE BLOG: Some minor changes involving all of these stations. Two markets in two states.
First to Springfield, MO where KYTV 3 has shortened the Sunday edition of its 9:00pm newscast for sister station KYCW 25. KY3 News at 9:00 on The Ozarks’ CW now only runs from 9:00-9:30 p.m. on Sundays, now joining the Saturday edition which has always only run from 9:00-9:30 p.m. However, the weeknight edition still runs for an hour from 9:00-10:00 p.m. and that won’t change. Sundays at 9:30 p.m. have been replaced with The MomsEveryday Show, a half-hour Gray Television-produced program in which is a “must-run” for all Gray Television stations (Gray owns KYTV 3 – NBC, KSPR-LD 33 – ABC and KYCW-LD 25 – The CW).
Finally, we go to El Paso where KVIA 7 has dropped its weeknight 9:00 p.m. half-hour newscast it had for its second digital subchannel, known as El Paso-Las Cruces CW. ABC 7 News at 9:00 on El Paso-Las Cruces CW has been replaced by The Insider, which is going away after the Summer. This leaves KFOX 14 (FOX) as the ONLY choice for local primetime news at 9:00 p.m. in the market, 7 nights a week.
Other than that, there are no other major additions or expansions to report on at this time.
