FIRST ON THE BLOG: Some few changes to report from two different markets in two different states.
First up is WBBM 2 where it has quietly added a half-hour 6:00 p.m. newscast on Saturdays, marking the only newscast on at that time in the market. CBS 2 News at 6:00 is now seen on Mondays-Saturdays and was added to Saturdays due to possible CBS Sports overruns that sometimes takes place during the early-evening hours. The station still airs a 5:00 p.m. newscast on Saturdays.
Another station making a small change is Northwest Ohio’s WTOL 11 where it has gotten rid of the 9:00 a.m. hour on Sundays. WTOL 11 News This Morning now only airs on Saturdays from 6:00-7:00 and 8:00-9:00 a.m. and this is due to CBS’ E/I programming and CBS Sports events starting early. The 9:00 a.m. hour may soon return when sports finally clears up but for now, its currently off air. This now leaves WTVG 13 (ABC) as the ONLY home for local news at 9:00 a.m. on weekend mornings in the market.
There was a big expansion that took place in Baton Rouge and that’ll be detailed in my next report.
