FIRST ON THE BLOG: I thought I was done with the small changes but apparently, there are more and there was another one taking place in Connecticut.
Just recently, WFSB 3 has done some shuffling around on Sunday mornings. Its Sunday morning newscast, which aired from 6:00-9:00 a.m., recently expanded to an hour to start at 5:00 a.m. but cuts 30 minutes away at 8:30 a.m. in order to accommodate the station’s long-time public affairs program, Face The State, hosted by weeknight anchor Dennis House.
This is done so that WFSB can finally air Face The Nation in its hour-long entirety starting at 10:30 a.m. Before these moves, Face The State would air at 11:00 a.m. WFSB now has the earliest start on Sundays at 5:00 a.m. and competes against WVIT 30 (NBC) at 5:30 a.m. At 6:00 and 7:00 a.m. on Sundays, its WFSB, WTNH 8 (ABC), WVIT and WTIC 61 (FOX). At 8:00 a.m., its WFSB and WTIC before WTIC is all alone at the 8:30 a.m. half-hour.
So now, WFSB airs its Sunday morning news from 5:00-8:30 a.m. followed by Face The State at 8:30 a.m. and then CBS’ usual Sunday morning programs (Sunday Morning and Face The Nation) from 9:00-11:30 a.m.
Other than that, there are no other major additions or expansions to report on at this time.
