FIRST ON THE BLOG: A small change to report from the biggest market in Oregon.
Just recently, KPTV 12 has allowed its sister station KPDX 49 to air Good Day Oregon, 7 days a week. Currently, the simulcast is almost the entire weekday morning newscast, save for the 4:30 a.m. half-hour and the entire weekend morning newscast. In other words, 5:00-9:00 a.m. on weekdays and 6:00-9:00 a.m. on weekends on KPDX 49. This is good just in case FOX Sports programming preempts any of the hours in the morning, especially in times like today during the World Cup.
Speaking of the morning news, KPTV has added another hour to its Sunday morning newscast at 6:00 a.m., which competes against KGW 8 (NBC)’s weekend morning news for local morning news at that time in the market. This hour is also seen on KPDX which now airs a simulcast of GDO. Remember… KPDX continues to air hour-long 8:00 and 9:00 p.m. newscasts, 7 nights a week.
Other than this, there are no other major additions or expansions to report on at the time.
