KTVT will air weekend morning news for the first time since 2006.

KTVT 11 / Dallas – Ft. Worth (“CBS 11”)

FIRST ON THE BLOG: Dontryl Alexander has done it once again with another great tip and this one is a great tip, coming out of the DFW metroplex.

Starting September 20th, KTVT 11 will add and air regularly scheduled weekend morning news for the first time since 2006, when CBS Corporation enforced budget cuts on many of it’s stations (including in my home area at WFOR 4 in Miami), which saw newscasts being cut to save money. The new newscasts (ultimately titled CBS 11 News Saturday and CBS 11 News Sunday, respectively) will air on Saturdays from 8:00-9:00 a.m. and on Sundays from 7:00-8:00 a.m. The new programs would compliment CBS News programming, since the Saturday edition would air after CBS This Morning: Saturday which is on from 6:00-8:00 a.m. and the Sunday edition would follow CBS News Sunday Morning from 8:00-9:30 a.m.

The Saturday edition would go up against KDFW 4 and WFAA 8 while the Sunday edition would go up against just KDFW 4.

Dontryl Alexander sends us great tips all the time and it’s never too late to send us a tip. PLEASE! If you know a tip, send it to us under the Contact Us/Submit Tips page. We are the leader in The Latest News about Local Newscasts… The Changing Newscasts Blog.
