Changing Newscasts is coming back… but moving.

Hello there. I know, it feels surreal to send out this post again, but its been nearly a year since my last post here on this site. That have been lots of personal and professional changes that have happened in my life, none of which I will explain here. However, there’s some good news…

CHANGING NEWSCASTS IS COMING BACK!

However, there’s something you should know. This blog is moving.

As a matter of fact, this will be the LAST post of Changing Newscasts in this current form. For eight years (not counting this last year), its been awesome to deliver a service that not many have thought of and not many have tried to do since in a way that makes sense for those local TV news observers like me to keep updated with local newscasts happening across the country. I’ve gained tons of recognition from all over and have appreciated every single one of you, though the attention should not be on me. It should always be on the stories that I do that’ll hopefully make you understand a bit better as to why these stations make these moves. And I’ve done it here on WordPress, and I’ll continue to deliver that.

Except, I won’t do that on WordPress anymore. Starting this upcoming week and within the weeks and months to come, you’ll be seeing new posts on our new platform over at Substack. There, we can post the same stories as we’ve always done, but it will now allow me to introduce podcasting if I want to, and a ton of other features that I couldn’t do here.

However, let me rest to assure you that this site will NOT shut down. I repeat… NOT shut down. This will become an archived site full of all stories that date back to our first year in 2014. Not only that, it will remain open and online if you want to submit any tips you may have as I’ve appreciated each and every single one of them and I’ve used a lot of those tips to deliver the stories you have read on this site over the years.

If you’re wondering where on Substack you can find Changing Newscasts, simple. The link to subscribe for FREE is right here. It will remain FREE as it always has been. However, if you’d like to donate to support my work and this service, then click here. From now on, all stories from Changing Newscasts will be done on Substack so if you want the latest, migrate over there, but please also use this site to continue to submit your tips. I read each and every one of them and please make sure its newsworthy.

Oh and yes, stories will continue to be posted on our social media pages, including Twitter (@ChangeNewsBlog; now X) and Facebook.

Its been an absolute pleasure to be able to share these stories for nearly a decade. However, just like the news business, it never stops, the show must continue to go on, and we will do so on a different platform.

So find us on Substack and we’ll continue our mission and our stories there. I will do my best to remain this service as THE Leader in The Latest News about Local Newscasts. I will also do my best to migrate all my current email subscribers over to Substack so that email updates can remain heading into your inbox, for those who’ve already subscribed. I appreciate your support very much.

Thank you and, for the last time on WordPress, goodbye. I’ll see you on Substack.

P.S., Two things. One, help us get to a million views before we move. Also, I may come back here at some point in the future. You may never know. Stay tuned…

CBS is making moves on local news across its station group.

CBS News and Stations, formerly CBS Television Stations, its local O&O station division.

I was contemplating how I was going to do this post. In the end, I figured it all out. So, in this post, we’re just gonna talk about nothing but CBS’ owned-and-operated stations because there have been huge moves involving local newscasts across its station group over the past two months.

For the record here, not EVERY station or duopoly is involved with this, so keep that in mind while you are reading this.
