FIRST ON THE BLOG: Here is that other tip that Jeremy sent in for this blog and I say, its about time for this one to take place.
KOKI 23 is no longer the only station in Tulsa that delivers 4 and a 1/2 hours of morning news on weekdays. Because since January 12th (yesterday as of this post), KOTV 6 has added another half-hour to its weekday morning newscast. Titled 6 in the Morning’s Early Morning Update at 4:30 a.m., the newscast now joins KTUL 8 (which was the first to air a 4:30 a.m. newscast in the market) and KOKI 23 (which started airing one last year) with 4:30 a.m. morning news in the Tulsa market.
The new half-hour newscast is anchored by KOTV veteran Rich Lenz and The News on 6 Weather Meteorologist Alan Crone. Another KOTV veteran, LeAnne Taylor, doesn’t start joining the party that is the 4 and a 1/2 hour extravaganza until 5:00 a.m. KOTV 6 produces 6 in the Morning, now from 4:30-6:00 a.m. exclusively on KOTV 6, from 6:00-8:00 a.m. on both KOTV 6 and KQCW 19, Tulsa’s CW and their sister station and from 8:00-9:00 a.m., exclusively on KQCW 19.
And to those doubting this story already, then please look at this…
And now KOTV 6 and KOKI 23 are doing 4 and a 1/2 hours of morning news in Tulsa. My goodness, I feel bad for the people working. But also good for those who need it, including the viewers.
