Newscasts debuting this weekend… Edition #8

WSAV-TV 3 / Savannah (“WSAV 3”)
KOTV-DT 6 / Tulsa (“KOTV 6”)
WDJT-TV 58 / Milwaukee (“CBS 58”)

Another weekend of newscasts debuting this weekend. Here’s the list and listed by time zone:

Saturday April 4th, 2015

  • 6:00-7:00 AM: WSAV News 3 Coastal Sunrise at 6:00 a.m.
  • 9:00-10:00 AM: WSAV News 3 Coastal Sunrise at 9:00 a.m.

WSAV in Savannah. WSAV 3’s first attempt at a weekend morning newscast. It will compete against long-time leader WTOC 11 in the 6:00 a.m. hour.

  • 8:00-9:00 AM: 6 in the Morning at 8:00 a.m.
  • 9:00-10:00 AM: 6 in the Morning at 9:00 a.m.

KOTV in Tulsa. KOTV 6 is also launching their first attempt at a weekend morning newscast, but this one could be more successful than WSAV 3’s because KOTV 6 is home to the #1 morning newscast and the most popular one too, 6 in the Morning. The 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. hours will compete against KJRH 2 and KOKI 23.

Sunday April 5th, 2015

  • 6:00-7:00 AM: WSAV News 3 Coastal Sunrise at 6:00 a.m.
  • 9:00-10:00 AM: WSAV News 3 Coastal Sunrise at 9:00 a.m.

WSAV in Savannah. See WSAV 3 above.

  • 6:00-7:00 AM: 6 in the Morning at 6:00 a.m.

KOTV in Tulsa. See KOTV 6 above. This hour would also compete against KJRH 2 and KOKI 23.

  • 7:00-8:00 AM: CBS 58 Sunday Morning at 7:00 a.m.

WDJT in Milwaukee. You can also call it the CBS 58 Morning News at 7:00 a.m., but CBS 58 Sunday Morning is the official name. Anyways, this is also WDJT 58’s first attempt in weekend morning news and would compliment CBS News Sunday Morning, since it airs before it. This would compete against WITI 6 and WISN 12.

In an unrelated scenario, KSHB 41 will air its last 41 Action News Today at 8:00 a.m., tomorrow morning. That hour will move to 6:00 a.m. on Saturdays, starting next Saturday April 11th. The 9:00 a.m. hour will remain.

And you’re now caught up-to-date. Have a great weekend!
