Newscasts debuting this week… Edition #28.

Due to the HQ, potentially losing Internet this weekend (I have to switch boxes and Internet plans), we will post our Newscasts debuting this week, today instead of the usual Sunday.

If you’re unfamiliar with these lists, I do it by day and time order (in EST).

Monday September 7th, 2015

  • 6:30-7:00 AM: KNOE 8 News – Good Morning Ark-La-Miss at 6:30 a.m.

KNOE-DT 8.2 in Monroe. While not a new newscast on KNOE 8, a half-hour simulcast is now being added on digital subchannel, “KAQY,” marking a return to a local newscast on that station.

  • 12:00-12:30 PM: WLTZ First News at Noon

WLTZ in Columbus, GA. The station is expanding its noon newscast to a full half-hour from previously 15 minutes. The station’s news/talk show, The Dee Armstrong Show, is being moved from 12:15 p.m. to a full hour at 11:00 a.m.

  • 4:00-5:00 PM: News 6 at 4:00

WKMG in Orlando. Since the last time we reported on this, the station has changed its branding to News 6 and a new slogan, Getting Results. And this new newscast will show the commitment to the changes that the station has been making for quite some time now.

Tuesday September 8th, 2015

  • 4:00-4:30 AM: NewsChannel 8 Today at 4:00 a.m.

WFLA in Tampa. This will become Florida’s first TV news station to start at 4:00 a.m., as all others will continue to start at either 4:30 or 5:00 a.m.

  • 11:00-11:30 AM: NBC 4 Midday

WCMH in Columbus. The station is moving its midday newscast to 11:00 a.m. and Daytime Columbus, the station’s lifestyle show, will make the move as well, to 11:30 a.m.

  • 11:00 AM-12:00 PM: 2 News Works For You Midday

KJRH in Tulsa. The station is expanding their midday newscast to a full hour, moving Right This Minute to two episodes at 2:00 p.m. UPDATE: The expanded newscast will now debut on September 8th, not the 7th like first reported.

  • 4:30-5:00 PM: LEX 18 News at 4:30

WLEX in Lexington. WLEX 18 will finally compete against the 2 and 1/2 hour news block that WKYT 27 has done for 4 years now. Inside Edition moves from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.

  • 4:00-4:30 PM: KFVS 12 Heartland News NOW at 4:00

KFVS in Cape Girardeau. The first 4:00 p.m. newscast in the area, providing half-hour local news from the #1-rated station the market.

If any more, we will let you know (Internet permitting this weekend). Have a great week, everyone.
