A small minor newscast change… #276.

WFIE 14 / Evansville, Ind. – Owensboro – Henderson, Ky. (“14 WFIE”)

FIRST ON THE BLOG: WFIE is making some changes to its midday programs starting today. And to be honest, its good news because the block is expanding to two hours as both programs are expanding in time.

Starting today, WFIE 14 will be expanding both its midday programs, 14 News Midday and Midday with Mike to a full hour each. 14 News Midday will remain at 11:00 a.m., but will go from just 15 minutes to a full hour, thus being on air from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. and will be the ONLY hour-long midday newscast in the market as both the other midday newscasts in the market, WTVW 7 (CW) and WEVV 44 (CBS), both air theirs for a half-hour at 12 noon.

Meanwhile, WFIE’s midday talk show Midday with Mike, which was previously 45 minutes at 11:15 a.m., will move to an hour later but go on air from 12:00-1:00 p.m.

As a result, WFIE will now air a two-hour block of local news and programming from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., the ONLY station in the market that can claim to this.

No other changes are being made to the market and no other major additions or expansions to report on at this time.
