Changes within the Boise market…

KBOI-TV 2 / Boise – Nampa – Caldwell (“KBOI 2”)
KIVI-TV 6 / Nampa – Boise – Caldwell (“Today’s Channel 6”)
KNIN-TV 9 / Caldwell – Boise – Nampa (“FOX 9”)

FIRST ON THE BLOG: Some few changes took place in the Boise market. I’d say recently, but this is probably going on for weeks or a month or so.

First off, KBOI 2 has recently moved it’s Sunday 5:00 p.m. newscast, back to 5:30 p.m. and now, once again, air news on both weekend days at 5:30 p.m. It also airs a 10:00 p.m. news show.

Back on August 25th, KNIN 9 started airing an extension of Good Morning Idaho from 7:00-8:00 a.m. from it’s sister station, KIVI 6. The show is anchored by the current 5:00-7:00 a.m. team of Good Morning Idaho that’s already seen on KIVI 6, which is Spencer Blake and Rachel Garceau with Traffic from J Bates. Weather was from Meteorologist Bri Eggers, but left the station to become the weekend evening (6:00, 10:00 and 11:00 p.m.) meteorologist for WHDH 7 in Boston. The show now competes with both KYUU-LD 35/KBOI 2.2 (The CW; half-hour) and KTVB 7.2 (“Idaho’s Very Own 24/7” Ind.; hour-long) for morning news at 7:00 a.m. in Boise.

I’ve always thought Boise is an interesting market to follow. It still is.
