KJTL adds a “Morning Edition” from KFDX.

KJTL 18 / Wichita Falls, TX – Lawton, OK (“Texoma’s FOX”)
KFDX-TV 3 / Wichita Falls, TX – Lawton, OK (“KFDX 3”)

FIRST ON THE BLOG: No, not the Morning Edition from NPR, but the Morning Edition on KJTL coming from KFDX.

We don’t know how long this has been on-air, but KJTL 18 has recently aired a half-hour morning newscast at 8:00 a.m. called Texoma’s FOX Morning Edition. The half-hour morning newscast airs local news, weather and sports, produced by the KFDX 3 news team, which is also their sister station. It’s only a half-hour newscast, since it leads to Right This Minute at 8:30 a.m. It’s also the ONLY morning newscast in that timeslot in the market. But there is still no 7:00 a.m. local news in the market.

KFDX 3 already produces a weeknight-ONLY half-hour 9:00 p.m. newscast for the station. Not bad, but not to shabby either.
