KSHB will add another local newscast and its right before NBC Primetime.

KSHB-TV 41 / Kansas City (“41 Action News”)

If you’re looking  for a local newscast to come on before your favorite network programs come on in Kansas City, then look no further because KSHB will soon deliver on that.

Starting Monday September 12th, KSHB 41 will add a new half-hour local newscast at 6:30pm. 41 Action News at 6:30 will be anchored by ex-WFOR’er Rhiannon Ally with 41 Action Weather from Chief Meteorologist Gary Lezak.

This new newscast will compete against KCTV 5 (CBS)’s half-hour weeknight newscast at 6:30pm for its sister station, KSMO 62 (MyTV). Thanks to this new newscast, The List, which is currently seen on KSHB 41 at 6:30pm, will move to its sister station KMCI 38 (Ind.), known as 38 The Spot at 9:00pm, moving Right This Minute to a different timeslot that is yet TBD.

According to the station, this will provide KSHB 41 with 7-and-a-1/2-hours of local news/weekday.

So yes, more local news is coming to KSHB 41. We’ll see how this one goes.
