There have been some changes involving mostly every station in the Myrtle Beach/Florence market.

WBTW 13 / Florence – Myrtle Beach (“WBTW News 13”)
WFXB 43 / Myrtle Beach – Florence (“FXB FOX TV”)
WPDE-TV 15 / Florence – Myrtle Beach (“ABC 15”)
WWMB 21 / Florence – Myrtle Beach (“WWMB CW 21”)
WMBF-TV 32 / Myrtle Beach – Florence (“WMBF News”)
WMBF-DT 32.2 / Myrtle Beach – Florence (“Bounce Myrtle Beach/Florence”)

FIRST ON THE BLOG: Yep… mostly all of them. I don’t know when these changes happened but they all happened and are currently on the air. I will detail them right now.

WFXB added a midday newscast, only it’s from WBTW.

WFXB 43 / Myrtle Beach – Florence, SC (“WFXB FOX TV”)

FIRST ON THE BLOG: WFXB has added even more news, except that this is also produced by WBTW.

Just recently, WFXB 43 has added a midday newscast called the FOX Midday News, a brand new half-hour newscast at 12:30 p.m. That’s a weird start time and uncommon, but it’s for a good reason. All of WFXB 43’s newscasts are produced by WBTW 13, their partner news station. Already WFXB 43 airs the FOX Morning News from 7:00-9:00 a.m. and the half-hour FOX News at 10:00, before they head off to their satire-based newscast called NOT The News at 10:35 p.m.

The newscast is anchored by the same 2 people who do NOT The News, Greg Rowles and Abbi Neal. It’s kinda like NOT The News, except it has local news and weather at 12:30 p.m. in which makes it the ONLY newscast on in that timeslot in the market, the other being the ONLY ones on at 12:00 Noon in the market, WBTW 13’s News 13 at Noon, as competitors WPDE 15 and WMBF 32 don’t produce a midday newscast at all (WPDE 15 hasn’t done one in years while WMBF 32 hasn’t even done it since the station’s operations began in 2008). According to my brain of TV news knowledge, I only know 1 other station that has a half-hour midday newscast that starts at 12:30 p.m., WICU 12 in Erie.

Well good for WFXB 43 because it expands their image as more than just an entertainment station.
