UPDATE as of 12:15 a.m. on 8/30/2014: Talked to Jen once again as to when the new newscast will debut. And now we know. Thanks to her being active on social media, we now know that the new newscast will debut on September 15th. KREM 2 News First Edition on Spokane’s CW 22 will be home to the area’s ONLY local morning newscast from 7:00-9:00 a.m.
FIRST ON THE BLOG: Nobody seems to be reporting on this, but I talked to KREM 2 personality Jen York on Facebook and confirmed that KREM 2 is adding a 7:00-9:00 a.m. morning newscast for KSKN 22. KREM 2 News First Edition on Spokane’s CW 22 will debut at some point in September from 7:00-9:00 a.m. on KSKN 22. The new newscast will be anchored by the current morning team of Anchors Laura Papetti and Sten Walstrom, StormTracker 2 Weather from Meteorologist Katie Boer, morning reports from Breanna Roy and of course, digital media reporter Jen York. Nobody broadcasts local news from 7:00-9:00 a.m. in that area which will make the expanded morning newscast, the only one on from 7:00-9:00 a.m. in the Spokane – Coeur d’Alene area.
